Nirjhar Das
I am an incoming PhD student at Stanford MS&E. My research interests are computational economics and social choice, learning theory and algorithms in general. I also enjoy high dimensional probability and its applications. I completed MTech (Research) at the Dept. of CSA, IISc Bangalore under the guidance of Prof Siddharth Barman. My Master's thesis focused on problems in Diversity in Nearest Neighbor Search, Sample-Efficient Alignment, and Auditing Fairness of Classifiers.
Before IISc, I was an undergraduate at IIT Delhi majoring in Electrical Engineering.
My BTech thesis was in Reinforcement Learning and Multi-Armed Bandits under Prof. Arpan Chattopadhyay, which was selected for the Best BTech Project Award.
I also completed a Minor in Artificial Intelligence in the Dept. of EE, IIT Delhi.
From August 2023 to June 2024, I worked as a Research Intern at Microsoft Research India under Dr. Gaurav Sinha. At MSRI, I worked on problems related to Multi-Armed Bandits in large action spaces and under various constraints.
